David Marques is a legal analyst and coordinator of the patent case-law unit at Darts-ip, part of the Clarivate group. He is a patent attorney and a jurist, with academic knowledge in both law and biology, and is specialized in patent litigation information, trends and data. David leads a multicultural team of legal analysts that monitor litigation trends in dozens of countries worldwide.
He also assists companies in obtaining crucial data from Darts-ip, for the purposes of litigation strategy, risk assessment and monitoring of competition. Recently, David has been involved in the preparation of data and intelligence for major reports on litigation by Non-Practicing Entities (NPEs) and also on litigation of Standard Essential Patents (SEPs).

MJ Chai is Senior IP Counsel of Lenovo Limited, a Fortune 500 technology company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. He currently assists in managing Lenovo�s worldwide patent portfolio with the Lenovo IP group. Serving as a key role within the IP group in bridging the teams in China and the US, MJ also facilitates communication across the different teams to bring about conception and fruition of ideas and strategies.
Additionally he is involved with patent assertion and patent licensing matters, as well as patent acquisition deals for Lenovo. Before joining Lenovo, MJ served as IP Counsel for a leading global supplier of semiconductor packaging equipment. In that capacity, he was responsible for managing the company�s IP portfolio, including obtaining patent and trademark registrations. MJ also advised the company on IP strategy and issues such as IP ownership and infringement, and handled patent assertion and enforcement matters for the company.
